rises). For taller stairs see the note below the charts. The spiral sizes
below DO NOT meet national building codes. Scroll down for spiral sizes
that do meet national building codes. Check with your building inspector
if you are not sure whether your stair needs to meet building codes.
The spiral sizes below DO MEET national building codes

Taller spiral stairs: Spiral stairs taller than 9'-6" (114") will require additional treads. Each additional tread will add up to 9-1/2" to the overall height. For example heights from over 114" up to 123-1/2" would require one additional tread; over 123-1/2" up to 132", add two treads; over 132" up to 141-1/2", add three. The prices for additional treads are shown in the right column above.
Stairwell size: Dimensions shown represent either: 1. The minimum finished length and width of a square stairwell; or 2. The minimum finished diameter of a round opening. Circular trim and top rail systems require other specific diameter openings. Please call Precision Pine for details.
What's in a kit? Precision Pine kits include everything needed to install the spiral stairs, including the top landing and the horizontal rails required by the landing. All balusters required (for a maximum 4" space between balusters) are included. The prices above represent all you pay for a kit.
